I could tell Kyle had confidence and would possibly not need the “warm up” time I always anticipate with every session. I was right! The combination of environment, clothing, lighting and him being comfortable in front of the camera seemed to be an amazing mix. I love his shoot and think he is going to enjoy his portraits years to come. I’m glad you brought your bat Kyle, it was worth it for sure!

Maeve loves theater and so a more theatrical looking session was perfect for her. We did not quite expect the winds we had but being that it said it was under fifteen miles a hour and we were already there, we stuck it out waiting to shoot in-between each gust! Dodging wind made the session last longer than expected and we were literally sprinting around trying to get outfit changes in! I think none of the hustle involved shows in her images thankfully and just the wind in the right places comes through. Her dress matched the sunset perfectly! Because Maeve had just gotten back from a visit in Japan we NEEDED to include this in the final shots. We mimicked a shot I did of my daughter in my grandmothers kimono and it came out pretty cool! Thanks for coming up from MA Maeve!

Owen chose Fort Stark for a little grittiness and edge along with being by the ocean. We used all the areas to create his mix of looks. I love the sports shirt against the tan concrete. Owen assumed he was going to use the red shirt for his personality photo in the year book having grown up playing soccer, but after seeing the first photo in this series he had to use that one! Laughing with the sun setting over you…how can you resist really? It was a joy working with him and his family.

Lizzie has a long standing passion and skill in the equestrian world. Many hours on the horse and in the car to fulfill her dreams. We were trying to create a image in which that would come through without actually photographing the horses themselves. As cool as it would be to photograph her on horseback in down town Portsmouth, it was a little difficult to orchestrate! I love the shot with her bridle in the background on the door. It was a blustery 19 mph windy day but with some building shelter we made it work!

Kelsey had the weather giving her a run for her money. First time to the beach it was sunny at home and she watched the thick fog roll in right after pulling into the parking lot for the shoot. Second time we got there the wind was howling. I promised her a reshoot if it turned out to be to much and we started regardless of the wind issue. I’m so glad we kept going because her portraits ended up exactly how she wanted them! I was really excited to show her the more dramatic ones and also a little nervous she may not like them because they were too different. Happily I found they were also her favorites!
